Indigestion
Posted by admin on Apr 28, 2008
This is generally caused by overeating, irregular eating habits and by eating heavy, fried, infected and contaminated food. Pain in the abdomen, burning sensation in the chest, acid eructation’s, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea are normally associated with indigestion.
Remedies:
- Chewing a piece of ginger (about 2 gm) with a pinch of salt, five minutes before a meal prevents and cures indigestion.
- Chewing 2gm of baritaki with jaggery five minutes before a meal also helps.
- Taking one teaspoonful of ginger juice with an equal quantity of lemon juice and a pinch of salt twice a day is useful.
- Once teaspoonful of the powder, paste or juice of nutgrass or cyperus rotundus may be taken three times a day. Honey or sugar may be added to this.
Diet and regimen: Heavy and fried foods are to be strictly avoided.
