Ayurveda considers headache to be of various kinds depending on the predominance of the dosha involved in the pathogenesis of this disease. The causative factors can be both physical and psychological. Defective eye-sight, inflammation of the sinus, high blood pressure, sleeplessness, brain tumor, prolonged overwork, emotional strain, exposure to excessive heat, indigestion, constipation and several other factors can cause headache. Headache is a symptom of many other diseases like fever, influenza and bronchitis.
