WatsuWatsu is a type of massage with the uses of warm water in swimming pool. It is a powerful dose to relax the human body. It almost provides weightless product to carry in the water. The water in the pool allows to flow in the receiver’s body very gently. It aids to connect the hormone in the body. Watsu is derived from the word “water”. In 1980, it was developed by Harold Dull, when he started applying Zen Shiatsu stretches to students floating in the warm pool at Harbin Hot Springs in California.

The temperature is moderate in this treatment as the exact same temperature in human body. The room should be provided with quiet and private atmosphere. Some watsu treatments are carried out in outdoors, surrounded by walls, with cloth panels overhead to create a combination of sunlight and shade. The client and massage therapist are allowed to wear bathing suits. A masseur will help the client to enter in water and put floats around the wrinkles. Then the therapist cradles the body with one arm supporting the knees, the other back side of the body. One of the arms is wrapped around the therapist’s back, the other floats free. It permits body through a series of passive stretches and twists.

Watsu has gentle therapeutic effect on the body. The buoyancy and move of water support the spinal column to be in place that isn’t possible on land. A masseur will support the client through out the session. If the patient is fear of water, they should inform the therapist. It is used to give peace both mind and body with calm effect. Watsu is also known as aquatic therapy. It quiets the mind, relaxes the body and opens the heart. It is excellent remedy for chronic pain and fibromyalgia.

Watsu is a treatment that is usually carried on a more traditional mat or on a massage table. It involves stretching, massage, joint mobilization, breathing exercises, relax mind, and dance to relax the body and promote health and well-being. It is recommended for all sorts of people because watsu is gentle and safe. Massage therapists will not encourage the people who are new to a massage because, it is very intense experience.
